© 2017 Ruth: A Faithful Journey.

The entire movie is based off of the Book of Ruth.

This old testament book of the Bible is a story of God's grace in the midst of difficult circumstances. When we first meet Ruth, she is a destitute widow. We follow her as she joins God's people, gleaning in the grain fields, and risks her honor at the threshing floor of Boaz. In the end we see Ruth becoming the wife of Boaz.

If you are reading this, we encourage you to read the Book of Ruth. It is only 4 chapters long, but is a story of loss, faithfulness, redemption, and blessings.

In 2015, Producers Richie, Sam and Gabe were pondering different Bible stories that could be made into a modern telling...

The Old Testament story of Ruth stuck. After reading many commentaries and studying the word, they had creatively constructed a plot that would remind one of a Hallmark movie, yet it is completely based off of scripture. This modern adaptation ended up being 92 minutes in length and captures the themes of the story in such a way that you will cry, laugh, and smile watching the faithful journey of Ruth unfold.
